The Honorary Consulate General Office in Monaco provides consular services to foreign as well as Nepali nationals. For the foreigners willing to visit Nepal, we provide you all types of Visa services.

Visa pre-application

Since November 1st, 2021, you have to fill out an online visa pre-application on the Nepal immigration website.

Be careful to select “Honorary Consulate General, Monaco” in the case embassy, otherwise we cannot deliver you your visa.

Touristic Nepali visa

The Government of Nepal is implementing visa issuance measures only for treks and mountaineering (Himalayas) The issuance of visas will be subject to very strict conditions.

For any further details, it is advisable to contact the General Embassy of Nepal, 45 Bis Rue des Acacias, 75017 PARIS.

Finally, given the health situation in Nepal and France, it is important to first check with the French authorities about the conditions that will be required for return to France.

BY DECISION OF THE EMBASSY, ALL PERSONS WHO BENEFIT FROM REFUGEE STATUS FROM FRENCH AUTHORITIES AND WHO WISH TO GO TO NEPAL MUST APPLY FOR A VISA BEFORE DEPARTURE AND ONLY AT THE EMBASSY GENERAL (47 Bis Rue des Acacias, 75017 PARIS).

A visa pre-application is mandatory for any requests. you can fill it out by clicking on the following link : NEPALIPORT. The embassy selected must be that of Monaco “Honorary Consulate General, Monaco”.

The visa application is made directly at the offices of the consulate and with an appointment ONLY. If the file is complete, the issue is immediate.

NB : Payment by check (payable to the “Nepal Consulate”) or in cash. Credit card is not accepted.

The Honorary Consulate General can issue tourist visas :

  • to people of French nationality,
  • to any person of another nationality holding a passport, residing or not on French territory, within the limits of Nepalese law. In this case, the procedure is the same as for a person of French nationality.

NB : Anyone holding a refugee travel document must apply for a visa directly at the premises of the Nepalese Embassy (45 Bis Rue des Acacias, 75017 PARIS)

Tourist visas issued are valid 6 months after the date of issue (date affixed by the Consulate on the visa on the day of issue). This means that the beneficiary can travel to Nepal with this visa within 6 months of this date.

You should apply for a visa at the Consulate depending on the length of stay in Nepal. There are 3 types of tourist visas:

  • stay from 2 days to 15 days,
  • stay from 16 days to 30 days,
  • stay from 31 days to 90 days.

NB : If the stay exceeds the duration mentioned on the visa or if the tourist visit is longer than 90 days, it is necessary to apply for an extension in Nepal: Department of Immigration / Kalikasthan / Dillibazar / Kathmandu / Népal

For a stay of less than 24 hours, it is possible to apply directly to the immigration control of Tribhuvan Airport for a transit visa. This visa is free.

  • 15 days Multiple Entry: Euro 30.00
  • 30 days Multiple Entry: Euro 50.00
  • 90 days Multiple Entry: Euro 115.00

Some Nationalities cannot obtain a visa when entering Nepalese territory. They must obtain a visa before their departure from the Nepalese diplomatic missions located abroad. The nationalities which meet these obligations are as follows:

  2. Ghana
  3. Zimbabwe
  4. Swaziland
  5. Cameroon
  6. Somalia
  7. Liberia
  8. Ethiopia
  9. Iraq
  10. Palestine
  11. Afghanistan
  12. Syria
Anyone with the official status of “Refugee” with a travel document issued by the country which granted this status. People holding a “Travel Document” as a refugee must apply for a visa by going to the Embassy of Nepal (45 Bis Rue des Acacias, 75017 PARIS)

Requests for the issuance of other documents can be made directly to the General Embassy of Nepal (45 Bis Rue des Acacias, 75017 PARIS). We reminder that a online pre-application is mandatory for any type of visa.

Diplomatic Visa

The diplomatic visa shall be issued to a person holding a diplomatic passport issued from any country and recommended from the concerned foreign diplomatic mission for the diplomatic visa, to a person considered fit to be granted diplomatic privileges by Nepal Government and the family members of such person holding the diplomatic passport.

The diplomatic visa shall be issued on the basis of reciprocity; the term thereof may be extended at a time or from time to time for the term of the assignment in Nepal.

Business Visa

The business visa shall be granted to the following foreigners and their family on the recommendation of concerned agency:

  • Foreigners having obtained license to make investment in any business or industrial enterprise within Nepal or authorised representatives of such business or industrial enterprise.
  • Foreigners having obtained license to invest to carry on export trade from Nepal.
  • Foreigners visiting Nepal from third country who export goods manufactured in Nepal through purchase or who place a purchase order for export.

It is issued for 90 days for a period of five years. However, its duration can be extended as needed.

Diplomatic Visa

If the passport of Nepalese nationals residing in France or Monaco is less than 6 months or expires, the following documents will be sent to the Central Passport Office in Kathmandu.

  • 2 copies of the completed application form.
  • Original copy of Nepalese citizenship certificate + copy.
  • Old passport or a copy.
  • 3 photos less than 6 months old
  • Receipt of payment of 120 € at the embassy.
  • Birth certificate and birth certificate of father and copy of Nepalese father’s passport when passport was first issued to children born abroad.
